Tammy Hwang, a current City of Hamilton employee, has taken a leave in order to run for Hamilton City Council.
Hwang, born in Canada to Taiwanese immigrants, describes herself as a “city builder, small business owner, startup cheerleader, and community organizer.”
She is one of 10 candidates (as of this writing) that is contesting Hamilton’s Ward 4, where incumbent Councillor Sam Merulla is not running again.
Below are maps of the ward itself and in proportion to the entire city.
Ward 4 (East Hamilton) runs from Ottawa Street North in the west to the Red Hill Valley Parkway in the east, down to King’s Forest in the south and the industrial waterfront in the north.
